I know that Toyota offered gold badges on their models. Girlfriend's Camry had them, and I've seen tons of Lexus' and Toyotas with them. Mostly Lexus ES though.

That's a common misconception, since nearly all of the cars you see with gold-plated emblems were sold brand-new from dealers with the emblems already plated. However, in most cases*, neither Toyota (and Lexus), Mercedes, Honda, or other automakers manufactured them that way. It's a dealer-installed option that the manufacturer has nothing to do with.

Companies such as Gold Touch sell portable electrochemical plating systems specifically for the people who sell such products and services to the dealers (or are employed by the dealer themselves). They install vinyl pinstripes, window tinting, running boards, etc. to new dealer-owned vehicles in order for the dealer to "add value" to the car before any customer has even considered purchasing it. They were at the height of popularity in the '90s-'00s, especially on Lexus, Toyota, and Acura.

Source: my own knowledge and experience as a dealership employee and detailer from the early '90s to mid '00s.

Anyway, my point is that if you found a car that had the regular chrome emblems but you wanted gold, you could have them plated just like as if it came with them from the dealer.

*There are some obvious exceptions, such as Chevrolet's bowtie. Other cars such as Chrysler New Yorker, Town & Country and Jeep Cherokee Limited do indeed have gold-coloured emblems from the factory, though not 24k gold plated.

They're ALL auto. But they can be swapped for an original IS300 manual (W55), a W58 from an SC300/MKIV NA Supra, R154 off a MKIII Supra Turbo, or go all out and get a V160/V161 from a TT Supra.
